So there are no plans to offer recordings of PIP assessments! Well never mind we can just tell them if you want to see us then we will record it on any device we have handy, be it a mobile phone or a Dictaphone. If there is one thing I believe I have learnt, that is that ATOS/DWP and the government do not like been told what someone will do.
ATOS don't like been told you are going to record, they say a person must request, a request can be denied, a recording of the assessment,There is an FOI on the what do they know site asking why ATOS are using tape and not CD recorders, there is also one asking why ATOS/DWP are refusing to record assessments that was answered by the answers they give IMHO are bullshit, they are not making it widely known that claimants can have a recording and come away with a copy of the recording. They are withholding information from claimants that could be beneficial to a successful claim and that is something the government/DWP or ATOS don't want as that stops them hitting targets.
What people need to realise and hit the government with is that they are making the tests for ESA/DLA/PIP so similar that it is, IMHO, a scam if they allow a claim for one benefit but deny the other benefit, the scam is the change to PIP and a different points system, this system is designed to confuse claimants who are entitled to both ESA and DLA/PIP. Soon will be the time to hit the DWP with FOI requests to ask what the points awards on PIP and which points relate to each score given for the DLA. From what I can imagine they will do away with the lower scores and so those classed as having some disability on DLA will now be seen has having no disability as they will score zero points.
When it comes to PIP and recordings I believe Grayling only stated that those who wished to have their assessment recorded could, he never mentioned it in relation to one specific benefit! So I for one have every intention of either doing my own recording and telling them I will be, thus giving them the option to record using a duel CD/TAPE recorder.
